The Asian SESAMES Awards will be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong this year. Since 2010, CARTES Asia – the leading smart technologies event in Asia Pacific has aimed to reward the most innovative technological applications developed for the APAC market in the field of smart cards, digital security, identification, secure transactions, and contactless technology.

New this year, the Asian SESAMES Awards will reward the best projects in these categories:

• Card technology, manufacturing and personalization – covering everything that relates to the card technology and manufacturing process, and its personalization, and provisioning until final delivery to the card holder.
• Hardware – including readers, validators, and more globally products and projects that enable interactions with the card.
• Software and applications – covering all sector dedicated applications (payment, telecom, healthcare, transport, identity, etc.), and software that enables the running of the applications.

Selected by a panel of international experts chosen for their involvement in associations and organizations for the promotion and development of smart technologies – Soft Space’s EMV payment platform is shortlisted for the software and applications category.

Contending against 24 companies – the competition is open to all companies operating in these sectors and the jury is composed of experts from the industry.

The official announcement of finalists will be released on Thursday, 14 March 2013 and winners will receive their awards on Wednesday, 27 March 2013. We hope to bring you good news then!
